Self defense · Metro Vancouver, BC

Learn to defend yourself, and stop wondering whether you could.

Private self defense and conditioning coaching for women who are ready to fight back. Beginners welcome — most of the women I train have never thrown a punch. Your body is your temple.

Open Air — The Method

Strong mindsets, not just strong looking bodies.

Plenty of training hours disappear into pleasant conversation. I'd rather use my judgment on what you actually need — mentally and physically — and put both in the same session.

Technique before power

Stance, feet, hips, fist — in that order, slowly, until you can feel the sequence instead of guessing at it. Power gets added to a shape that already works, never before.

Conditioning you can use

High intensity work and real cardio, because nobody is ever attacked rested. Endurance is the difference between a technique you own and one you only own when you're fresh.

Mind and body in the same room

I use my judgment every session on what you need mentally and what you need physically, then train them together. Build strong mindsets, not just strong looking bodies.

Mobility and recovery

Stretching is my strongest and most undervalued area. Bodies that move well train longer, and training longer is what actually makes you capable.

What you walk out with

Power builds the way weather builds — quietly, then all at once.

Nothing made outdoors is rushed. The same is true here: unhurried, repeated work that turns solid before you notice it happened.

  • 01You can throw a clean punch, tired, with your guard still up.
  • 02You know what you would do, instead of hoping you'd figure it out.
  • 03You sit in a room full of people knowing you can physically protect yourself.
  • 04Your conditioning holds long enough to matter.
  • 05You understand your own body instead of being told what to do with it.
Where most women start

You keep thinking: I wouldn't know what to do.

You check the back seat. You hold your keys a certain way walking to the car after a late shift. You've watched a few videos, and none of it lives in your body.

Maybe something changed recently — you're on your own now, in a place you weren't a year ago, and the question of who's around has stopped being theoretical. You don't want to be scared of a class full of people who already know what they're doing, and you don't want to be told you look great and sent home.

You want to genuinely walk out and feel like you can defend yourself.

Be my next success story.

Client results are coming soon. I'd rather show you real ones than made-up ones.

What I can offer you now is a founding spot: my full attention, a program built only around your body and your schedule, and the honest version of every answer. When you get there, your words go here — yours, not mine.

How it works

Five steps, in order.

  1. I

    Get in touch

Send me a note through the form. Tell me where you're starting from, including if that's nowhere.

  2. II

    We talk first

A conversation before anything physical: your history, any injuries, what you're actually worried about, what your schedule really looks like.

  3. III

    Your first session

Movement, mobility, and the very beginning of technique. No sparring, no pressure, no being thrown in.

  4. IV

    Build the habit

We set a rhythm that survives shift work. Steady and repeated beats intense and abandoned, every single time.

  5. V

    Train it under fatigue

Once the shape is there, we add conditioning underneath it. That's the point where training becomes defense.

Straight answers

What women ask me first.

I've never trained anything in my life. Is that a problem?
No. Total beginners are who I built this around. The first sessions are stance, breathing and mobility — there is nothing to keep up with and nobody watching.
Is this safe for me right now?
We talk before you train. Injuries, health history, anything you're nervous about. There is no sparring and no contact you haven't agreed to, and everything scales down before it scales up.
I work shifts. My schedule is a mess.
Then we build around it rather than pretending otherwise. Sessions are scheduled around what your weeks actually look like, and the programming assumes some weeks will be short ones.
I've just come out of something difficult. Will that be weird here?
It won't. A lot of the women I train arrive at a turning point. You decide what you share; the training respects it either way, and nothing here requires you to explain yourself.
Will I actually be able to defend myself, or is this just fitness?
It's real technique with real conditioning under it. What I won't do is promise you a timeline — anyone who tells you you'll be ready in six weeks is selling you something.
